Caring for a single dog or a cat needs full attention and commitment. However, taking care of two cats and a dog can fill up your schedule entirely. That’s what Bethany thought when her boyfriend Tyson mentioned he wanted another dog.
Aside from her concerns regarding living spaces, she felt they already have their hands full with their current brood. Adding yet another dog to the mix might make their apartment feel cramped and could disrupt their current lifestyle. Fate had a different plan for this particular family.
Last October 2016, Bethany and their dog Rogue enjoyed a leisurely walk to the farmers’ market. Passing by the usual displays, something caught their eye which stopped the duo in their tracks. A local animal shelter showed some of their adoptable dogs, and it included a dog who was the spitting image of Rogue.
Bethany called her boyfriend and immediately informed him she changed her mind. She found a dog that she felt belonged with their family. Without thinking twice, Bethany and Rogue took the new dog home, aptly naming him Beast.
Rogue and the new pup had the same fur coat and are both of mixed terrier breed. The two dogs instantly clicked and bonded like they’ve been together all this time. Now that she’s not the only dog anymore, Rogue wasn’t as hyper as before and mellowed out to counterbalance Beast’s exuberance.
Their family life easily adjusted with the addition of Beast. Beast proved to be an adorable lumbering goofball who loved cuddles and playtime. And true to his name, Beast gradually became twice the size of Rogue, which makes his antics all the more lovable.
Even after the family relocated to Hawaii, life with two dogs and two cats is just as hectic and heartwarming as ever. Bethany and her boyfriend loved how easily their fur babies adapted to their new surroundings. They try to take it one day at a time and look forward to their next family adventure.
