How can someone so fond of cats suddenly fall in love with a dog? You might find it contradicting but this heartwarming heroic story is one nobody should miss!
Sgt. Tegan Griffith, a former marine and a leader of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, also known as a cat lover, found her love for dogs earlier this week when she drove to work in Northern Wisconsin.
Being very familiar with the branches, rocks, and dead deer along the way she takes every day to work, sensed that something seems wrong at one of the canals.
Curiosity struck her! She found a scared little one tending to run away. Not so familiar with the dog’s behavior, she tried to tempt him with some cheese snacks so the little one will get into the car.
Thoughts came to her mind: how can this tiny dog survive the low 20’s temperature overnight? Her heart melts for this brave little one!
Griffith carried Larry, as she named him, to the office and tucked in her jacket to warm him up while working. Larry relaxed until they both got home and she has finally got the chance to contact the Forest County Humane Society.
As they visited the animal shelter, Larry had the most tear-jerking surprise. Reunited with his three siblings, they couldn’t explain the joy they saw in these doggies.
All four dogs stayed in the shelter until Friday. They got treatment for worms, dehydration, and shots. Griffith, on the other hand, already sensed a connection with Larry, she couldn’t resist leaving him at the shelter and wholeheartedly gave him a forever home.
Griffith, having a big heart of saving and adopting Larry went viral. She grabbed this chance to call out donations for her local animal shelter. The love and support overflowed, and Forest Humane Society generously receive $10,000 endowments.
It may be a hard position for Larry to endure this situation, but this little one fought for his survival. Our place in this world poses a lot of challenges, but we should never lose hope like Larry and Griffith, who left a positive impact on each other’s lives.
